History

1945 Jean Dubuffet starts prospecting in mental hospitals in Switzerland. After returning to France, he invents the term
        « art brut » et fonde La Compagnie de l’Art Brut en 1948 .

1959 Claude Massé starts his research on art brut and makes a collection called “L’art autre”.

1967 Presentation of Jean Dubuffet’s collection at the L’art brut exhibition hosted by the musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris..

1971 Donation of Jean Dubuffet’s Collection de l’Art Brut to the city of Lausanne. Alain Bourbonnais visits Jean Dubuffet..

1972 Alain Bourbonnais opens the Atelier Jacob, an « Hors-les-Normes » art gallery in Paris, with the inaugural exhibition Aloïse, lent by Jean Dubuffet.

1976 Opening in Lausanne of the Collection de l’Art Brut, Michel Thévoz is appointed curator.

1978 Exhibition at the Les Singuliers de l’art exhibition. Des inspirés aux habitants paysagistes , on the initiative of Michel Ragon and Alain Bourbonnais at the ARC2 –
          Musée d’Art moderne de la ville de Paris organized by Suzanne Pagé.

1979 Contribution of the Atelier Jacob to Outsiders the international art brut exhibition at the Hayward Gallery in London, sous la direction de
          Roger Cardinal.

1982 The Atelier Jacob closes down., Michel Nedjar and Claire Teller.

1983 La Fabuloserie, the hors-les-normes art museum, opens to the public at Dicy (Yonne).

1985 Death of Jean Dubuffet.

1986 Participation of La Fabuloserie in the exhibition Les Indomptés de l’art at the Palais Granvelle in Besançon.

1988 Death of Alain Bourbonnais.

1989 Inauguration of the Manège de Petit Pierre in the park of La Fabuloserie.

1990 Inauguration of the Site de la Création Franche in Bègles, founded by Gérard Sendray.

1993 La Fabuloserie 10 years old.

1995 Participation of La Fabuloserie in the exhibition Art brut et Cie: la face cachée de l’art contemporain at the Halle Saint Pierre in Paris, sous la direction             de Laurent Danchin.

1999 Creation of the abcd association by Bruno Decharme.

2000 Exhibition La Fabuloserie, Musée des diables et des anges at the Bochum museum (Germany), organized by Sepp Hiekkisch-Picard.

2001 Exhibition Alain Bourbonnais, un homme, une passion, une collection at the Abbaye Saint-Germain in Auxerre, organized by La Fabuloserie.

2003 La Fabuloserie 20 years old – Inauguration of the raft..

2009 2009 Inauguration of the Museum of Everything founded by James Brett, the collector. museum à Bruxelles est rebaptisé
          art )& ( marges musée.

2010 Opening of LaM, Musée d’art moderne, d’art contemporain et d’art brut de Lille Métropole, thanks to the Aracine donation. Fondation du
          CrAB – Collectif de réflexion autour de l’art brut.

2013 La Fabuloserie 30 ans.Exposition Un autre regard at the Singer-Polignac museum in Sainte Anne’s hospital in Paris, sous la direction
          de Déborah Couette, Anne-Marie Dubois and Antoine Gentil.

2014 Death of Caroline Bourbonnais. Agnès et Sophie Bourbonnais reprennent la direction du musée.

2015 Hommage à Caroline Bourbonnais, à cette occasion un livre est édité par La Fabuloserie : Des jardins imaginaires au jardin habité.
          Première Nuit Européenne des Musées.
          Lancement des Newsletters régulières.

2016 Ouverture de La Fabuloserie-Paris, librairie-galerie située au 52 rue Jacob, dans le but de conférer une visibilité à La Fabuloserie-Dicy sur Paris.
          Exposition dans l’iconique ancien Atelier Jacob, to 45 rue Jacob, à l’occasion de la sortie du livre Collectionner l’art brut – Correspondance
          Jean Dubuffet, Alain Bourbonnais, auteure Déborah Couette, éditions Albin Michel. 114 lettres richement illustrées.

          Lancement du 1^st autocar Paris – Dicy – Paris, avec pique-nique dans le parc.

2017-2018 Exhibition Collectionneurs turbulents – art-hors-les-normes sans frontières avec la Collection du polonais Andrzej Kwasiborski.

2019 Trentième anniversaire du Manège de Petit Pierre à La Fabuloserie, inauguré avec la pièce de théâtre Petit Pierre, interprétée par
          Maud Hufnagel.

2021 Campagne de financement participatif pour le sauvetage de la Tour Eiffel de Petit Pierre : grand succès !

2022 Fermeture de La Fabuloserie-Paris.
          Entrée de l’art brut au Centre Pompidou par la donation de 921 œuvres de la Collection abcd – Bruno Decharme.

2023 La Fabuloserie 40 ans à la Halle Saint Pierre. Exposition du 25 th january to 25 août sur les deux étages de la Halle : presse
          abondante et public très nombreux. Cette exposition contribuera à faire découvrir le musée à un grand nombre de visiteurs.
